Emma felt that she was ready to move out of home as it was very stressful there for her. She felt she needed to move out and gain more independence as well as being supported at the same time.

Kelly moved out of her parent’s home at the age of 17yrs to move in with her aunt & uncle. Whilst living there Kelly’s life was turned upside down as she became the victim of a serious sexual assault by her grandfather.

When Sarah’s adoptive mother moved to France with her new partner Sarah moved in with her boyfriend but the relationship broke down and she had to move out. Sarah was diagnosed with hearing problems and her mother approached some organisations which helped deaf people to find somewhere to live and they referred her to the YMCA in Southampton.
