Applying for accommodation
Please complete the "Young Person Referral Assessment Form" with the Young Person in as much detail as possible, prior to referring to Southampton YMCA.
Please send your completed application to the Receptionist either by post or e-mail.
Once Southampton YMCA receives your application it will be checked by one of our officers. If we are happy with the information contained on the form you will be called for an interview. Please note that we do require as much information as possible as we are a Supported Housing Provider not a Housing Provider. Applicants must have a medium support need. After the interview you will be contacted within 3 days to let you know the outcome. If you are successful you will either be placed on a waiting list (unfortunately we are unable to inform you how long you will be waiting) OR you will be offered immediate accommodation once you have submitted a claim for housing benefit and provided proof of income i.e. JSA, Income Support, Wage Slips etc.
Your stay with Southampton YMCA can be for a maximum of two years but this is down to you. Tenants who are seen to be trying their best and engaging with Support Session could get their Tenancies renewed. Tenants who are seen to be hanging around and making NO progress will be required to leave after six months. Should you cause any problems during your stay, you may find your stay shorter.
I wish you all the best today and for your future.
