Work in schools

Having fun with clay!Southampton YMCA works in junior and secondary schools across the city of Southampton, offering our outreach development programme.

This includes playground support at lunchtime, talking with young people and engaging them in meaningful activities. We also deliver to school assemblies and RE lessons and support teaching staff in satellite schools, offering an informal and non-judgmental approach to working with young people.

Our education department helps young people and adults to access a wide range of educational and sporting activities.

Dads & Lads

Dads, Lads and Lasses is a fun interactive programme, that improves the mental, physical and emotional well being of male carers and their children (boys and girls).

Our sessions promote the carer's involvement with their children to strengthen family relationships and reduce the instances of exclusion from full time education. It also provides peer education and mentoring to young fathers/carers.

Playscheme
